Another Black and White

It's late, i'm gonna go to bed. Just wanted to share this with you.

Christmas Calendar Mania !!

Since we live so far away from our families I usually make them something with pictures of the boys for christmas. This year i am making 6x6 calendars for everyone. It's a lot of work, so I try to make each page as nice as possible, while keeping it as aimple as possible with less expensive embelishments since I am making so many. I will show them as I get them finnished. Enjoy !

Rustic Chic

It's shameful how long i've had this Rustic Chic paper pad from T.A.C. and not used one scrap of it. I also bought those big flower centers on vacation and not used any. This morning I determined that I would use them if it killed me !! Hope you enjoy the outcome.

If Wishes ...

A stamping friend , Mary sent me some great images of Bellas. I was very thankful because I don't yet own and ! Because I wanted to paper piece the umbrella and I didn't have the stamp I cut out each of the pieces with an exacto knife, then used the black stickles to fill in the lines . Not exactly the easiest way to go, but it worked ok. By the was Mary just started a new blog, you can check it out here http://moejoedesigns.blogspot.com/

Black and White ?

Doing a black and white card is totally out of the ordinary, but I had seen some lately that really inspired me. And I had been feeling guilty lately about not using the Tomis Kinkade stamps I had bought.

Baby Girl

Well, I don't know anone who is having a baby girl yet, but there is always wishful thinking ! I have made some cards lately, but I realized that I hasn't done baby cards in a while. Since I just got the baby girl scrapbook kit from Stampin-Up I decided to use that. By the way scrapbooking kits are not just for scrapbookers, you can make tons of great cards with them too !
Here's to hoping that our friend Melissa's baby is a girl, and now I need to go make her a congratulations card.

Second Sketch #16

This is my second take on Beate's weekend sketch #16. I was first inspired by this new set I got from T.A.C. , it's called Holliday Majic. I was drawn to it because included in the set were two circle stamps , for the two circles that were on the sketch. But I never ended up using them ! The paper is Basic Grey Dasher. Hope you enjoy this one.

Weekend Sketch Challenge # 16

Beate did it again with a great sketch, i've got ideas for another floating around in my head !! This one came together quickly after a visit from the ups man with my Stampin-Up order !!! This card was made with everything you get in the level three hostess set "Happy Me" , even the ribbon !!!

'

Well, i'm not quite sure what I think of these two, but i'm uploading them anyway. I've found it seems that the cards I absolutly love no one comments on, and the ones i'm not really pleased with do. I guess that just goes to show you that we all have different tastes !

Let's get focused !!

O.K. I am being a very naughty girl. The phone keeps ringing I have a million and one things to do,i'm in the process of stuffing shells for a church dinner, but instead i'm sitting at the computer posting ! AAAAHHHHGGGG. Alright i'm going to work.

Friendly Flowers

I'm going to post this quick , and then start baking. We have so much going on with the funeral and an evangelist coming this week, and tonight is the first night of our new Bible Institute. So have a blessed day, and remember to count your blessings.

I Love Fall

I miss the changing of the seasons in Pennsylvania, here in Barrow it's warm and then you wake up one day and it's winter again. No trees to change leaves, or to get that fall smell in the air. But this is where God has called us to minister sand so I will be thankful. 1 Thess. 5:16 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Another view, it's very frustrating when you make a card you like and you can't get a good picture of it.

Praying for You

Tonight in Barrow Alaska our hearts are mourning the loss of one of our church members who leaves behind a wife and two small girls. No words that we can express can take the sorrow away, but it is my prayer that when she openes this card she will know that her pastor and I care and are praying for God to help her through this. But even though we sorrow for our loss, we can rejoice in knowing that he is in Heaven with the Lord. I hope and pray that you all have this same assurance. Jn.3:16 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Godspeed

I wanted to show you this cool new ribbon I got from doodliedoo and Julie Brooks . It comes in pink and blue too. When you have all boys like I do you can't use much ribbon on their pages, so this stuff is just perfect for me !! And to top it off they sent it in such an adorable package with a card and some free mini me's !! Thanks Dooodliedoo.

Sketch challenge #15

This is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. Hope you enjoy it !

Scrapping with P.J'S

I made this scrapbook page for a challenge at Savvy n Sassy. You were to pick a pair of your pajamas for inspiration. I wanted to use my babys pj's instead. I saved pieces of their baby clothes intending to make a quilt when they got older, but when I saw this challenge I went digging for my baby stuff. I spent half the day reminiscing and dreaming of having another baby ! I took so many pictures to show the texture of the velvet paper . Basicly everything on the page was cut off the pj's. the hardest part was sewing the fabric on the paper because it was so stretchy. I hope you like it, even though it was very different from what I usually do, I will cherish it forever.

Back in the Scrapbooking Groove

It feels good to be scrapbooking again, hope you like. Paper from TAC

Mom Mom and Joshua

I have not scrapbooked in an eon, it was kind of hard getting back into the groove, but after spending the entire day on this, and scrapping a lot of versions and ideas I am actually pleased with the outcome. It is alsoanother button challenge for Angelina's site.

layerless buterfly wishes

Making a layerless card is a real challenge for me mostly because I like alot of things on my cards. That isn't to say that I don't like simpler cards, I just can't leave mine like that, it's like a compulsion with me. Anyway this is for Mary's no-layer card challenge. Hope you like !!

Grandma's quilt

This card was for Angelina's blog candy , the challenge was to simply use a lot of buttons. This was right up my alley since i'm a button-a-holic !! I wanted this card to look like the cozy quilts that grandma used to make.

Carlas sketch challenge

I just had to try this sketch challenge when I saw it, I think I will try it again tommorow i'm not sure if I like how this one turned out ?

Grandpa's Boys

This little book kit came with the paper pack Wanted by Cosmo Cricket. I decided to assemble it for my dad. We live very far apart so he doesn't get to see the kids but once a year. For the past two years he has been confined to a wheelchair and living in the veterans hospital because of complications from Vietnam. Thank-you daddy for serving your country, I love you. And thank-you to all the servicemen for our freedom !!

Second Try

Well, this one came together much easier, so I like it better !! Hope you enjoy.

Well, I wanted the Brocade Basics and Illuminations sets from Stampin-up ever since the new catalog came out. None the less I was very frustrated today over what to do with them. I think I will try again tomorrow , maybe I will get better results.

cameo coral

Happy Lord's Day !! Since today is Sunday I didn't make anything new, I just pulled this out I did it last week. I've been having trouble taking good pictures of my work, the only way it comes out good is if I go outside in the sunlight. I don't know what I will do when we go into 24 hours of darkness ! Well anyway I hope that the glorious light of the gospel is shining in your heart all year long !

Weekend sketch challenge #14

I really wanted to use something out of the ordinary for me on this weeks sketch challenge. So I went on a search through my overflowing stamp closet to find a set that hardly ever gets used. I really like Asian inspired cards, I just never do them. Both sets are retired Stampin-up. Hope you enjoy it !

A BIG THANK-YOU to my friends

This card is to say a big thank-you to Korin at Inky Doodle for nominating me for the Rockin Girl Blogger award. Also to Nancy at Inkcicles for nominating me for the Nice Matters Award. WOW two in one day, I have been truely blessed. To top the wonderful day off Nancy and I went for a walk on the beach. We walked tward this barge that was offloading fuel, we didn't make it all the way though because the kids were getting tired and cranky. In case you were wondering the barges are how we get alot of our stuff here, building supplies, food, vehicles, it's all barged in. I hope you hade as wondeful a day as I did.

Hit the Beach !!

A while back Nancy shared with me some Bella images that she recieved. I didn't think that I would actually use this one, but I needed to make some male cards, which I usually have a hard time making. Sooo I got it out, and had so much fun with it. And a big plus was that it looked awesome with this TAC paper that i've had forever and never had an occasion to use. I love it when that happens !
Well, it's a beautiful day AGAIN in Barrow (you have no idea how few days like this really are) and me and Nancy and the kids are gonna hit the beach !!

T-Shirt Weather in the Arctic !!

Today was a banner day in Barrow , the temp. hit 60 degrees, with a slight breeze and no mosquitoes !! The boys put all the trash in the cart and hauled it out to the dump with the four wheeler. We have church tonight , but i'm going to ask my husband if we can go out riding afterward. We still have 24 hour sunlight so we can stay out late. Maybe i'll get a good picture of a caribou to show you. Have a good night.

Love the Quilt Card

I am so in love with these quilt cards. They come together pretty quickly after you have made one. They also alow you to use all the matching pretty papers you all have, and it's really only scrap size pieces. Thank-you Nancy Riley, you can see the tutorial on her site.

Compassion

A friend recently went on a quick trip to Ancorage and brought me back some frames to alter. Because we live in such a remote area we can't just run down to the local craft store to get supplies. This card is to thank her for being so thoughtful.
My husband is gone today. Our church is endevring to reach out into the smaller surrounding villages. The only way to get to them is to fly, and most have no churches. If they do have a church building they don't have a permanent pastor to lead them. Can you imagine living in a place where you couldn't go to church even if you wanted to ? The darkness that we go through here every winter because of the absence of the sun is nothing compared to spiritual darkness with the absence of the Son. Please pray for my husband as he endevors to fly into Atqasuk to minister to those people, and "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

A girl sweet pea

This soft pink paper came in the Lilly Kate stack, I love it !! The pea stamps are from T.A.C. which you can order from Nancy at Inkcicles.
