Christmas Calendar Mania !!
Since we live so far away from our families I usually make them something with pictures of the boys for christmas. This year i am making 6x6 calendars for everyone. It's a lot of work, so I try to make each page as nice as possible, while keeping it as aimple as possible with less expensive embelishments since I am making so many. I will show them as I get them finnished. Enjoy !

Rustic Chic
If Wishes ...
A stamping friend , Mary sent me some great images of Bellas. I was very thankful because I don't yet own and ! Because I wanted to paper piece the umbrella and I didn't have the stamp I cut out each of the pieces with an exacto knife, then used the black stickles to fill in the lines . Not exactly the easiest way to go, but it worked ok. By the was Mary just started a new blog, you can check it out here http://moejoedesigns.blogspot.com/

Baby Girl
Well, I don't know anone who is having a baby girl yet, but there is always wishful thinking ! I have made some cards lately, but I realized that I hasn't done baby cards in a while. Since I just got the baby girl scrapbook kit from Stampin-Up I decided to use that. By the way scrapbooking kits are not just for scrapbookers, you can make tons of great cards with them too !
Here's to hoping that our friend Melissa's baby is a girl, and now I need to go make her a congratulations card.

Second Sketch #16
This is my second take on Beate's weekend sketch #16. I was first inspired by this new set I got from T.A.C. , it's called Holliday Majic. I was drawn to it because included in the set were two circle stamps , for the two circles that were on the sketch. But I never ended up using them ! The paper is Basic Grey Dasher. Hope you enjoy this one.

I Love Fall
I miss the changing of the seasons in Pennsylvania, here in Barrow it's warm and then you wake up one day and it's winter again. No trees to change leaves, or to get that fall smell in the air. But this is where God has called us to minister sand so I will be thankful. 1 Thess. 5:16 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Praying for You
Tonight in Barrow Alaska our hearts are mourning the loss of one of our church members who leaves behind a wife and two small girls. No words that we can express can take the sorrow away, but it is my prayer that when she openes this card she will know that her pastor and I care and are praying for God to help her through this. But even though we sorrow for our loss, we can rejoice in knowing that he is in Heaven with the Lord. I hope and pray that you all have this same assurance. Jn.3:16 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Godspeed
I wanted to show you this cool new ribbon I got from doodliedoo and Julie Brooks . It comes in pink and blue too. When you have all boys like I do you can't use much ribbon on their pages, so this stuff is just perfect for me !! And to top it off they sent it in such an adorable package with a card and some free mini me's !! Thanks Dooodliedoo.

Scrapping with P.J'S
I made this scrapbook page for a challenge at Savvy n Sassy. You were to pick a pair of your pajamas for inspiration. I wanted to use my babys pj's instead. I saved pieces of their baby clothes intending to make a quilt when they got older, but when I saw this challenge I went digging for my baby stuff. I spent half the day reminiscing and dreaming of having another baby ! I took so many pictures to show the texture of the velvet paper . Basicly everything on the page was cut off the pj's. the hardest part was sewing the fabric on the paper because it was so stretchy. I hope you like it, even though it was very different from what I usually do, I will cherish it forever.

Grandpa's Boys
This little book kit came with the paper pack Wanted by Cosmo Cricket. I decided to assemble it for my dad. We live very far apart so he doesn't get to see the kids but once a year. For the past two years he has been confined to a wheelchair and living in the veterans hospital because of complications from Vietnam. Thank-you daddy for serving your country, I love you. And thank-you to all the servicemen for our freedom !!

Happy Lord's Day !! Since today is Sunday I didn't make anything new, I just pulled this out I did it last week. I've been having trouble taking good pictures of my work, the only way it comes out good is if I go outside in the sunlight. I don't know what I will do when we go into 24 hours of darkness ! Well anyway I hope that the glorious light of the gospel is shining in your heart all year long !

Weekend sketch challenge #14
I really wanted to use something out of the ordinary for me on this weeks sketch challenge. So I went on a search through my overflowing stamp closet to find a set that hardly ever gets used. I really like Asian inspired cards, I just never do them. Both sets are retired Stampin-up. Hope you enjoy it !

A BIG THANK-YOU to my friends
This card is to say a big thank-you to Korin at Inky Doodle for nominating me for the Rockin Girl Blogger award. Also to Nancy at Inkcicles for nominating me for the Nice Matters Award. WOW two in one day, I have been truely blessed. To top the wonderful day off Nancy and I went for a walk on the beach. We walked tward this barge that was offloading fuel, we didn't make it all the way though because the kids were getting tired and cranky. In case you were wondering the barges are how we get alot of our stuff here, building supplies, food, vehicles, it's all barged in. I hope you hade as wondeful a day as I did.
Hit the Beach !!
A while back Nancy shared with me some Bella images that she recieved. I didn't think that I would actually use this one, but I needed to make some male cards, which I usually have a hard time making. Sooo I got it out, and had so much fun with it. And a big plus was that it looked awesome with this TAC paper that i've had forever and never had an occasion to use. I love it when that happens !
Well, it's a beautiful day AGAIN in Barrow (you have no idea how few days like this really are) and me and Nancy and the kids are gonna hit the beach !!

T-Shirt Weather in the Arctic !!
Today was a banner day in Barrow , the temp. hit 60 degrees, with a slight breeze and no mosquitoes !! The boys put all the trash in the cart and hauled it out to the dump with the four wheeler. We have church tonight , but i'm going to ask my husband if we can go out riding afterward. We still have 24 hour sunlight so we can stay out late. Maybe i'll get a good picture of a caribou to show you. Have a good night.
Love the Quilt Card

Compassion
A friend recently went on a quick trip to Ancorage and brought me back some frames to alter. Because we live in such a remote area we can't just run down to the local craft store to get supplies. This card is to thank her for being so thoughtful.
My husband is gone today. Our church is endevring to reach out into the smaller surrounding villages. The only way to get to them is to fly, and most have no churches. If they do have a church building they don't have a permanent pastor to lead them. Can you imagine living in a place where you couldn't go to church even if you wanted to ? The darkness that we go through here every winter because of the absence of the sun is nothing compared to spiritual darkness with the absence of the Son. Please pray for my husband as he endevors to fly into Atqasuk to minister to those people, and "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."
