Hi, I know i've been MIA for a LONG time. I had some health issues and lost my Mojo, when I was feeling better I was so far behind in my life that other priorities took over ! I'm trying to got back into the swing of things-the new SU catty helped ! I was super inspired by these stamps a friend let me play with , I believe she got them in Anchorage.

I made this card for a missionary girlfriend to Fuiji who is very ill. Hebrews 4:16 says" Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. The sun was glinting on the card in such a way that it makes the verse look muddled in the picture. One of my pet peeves is spending time on a card you like and then not being able to get a good photo of it !

This weeks Belli challenge is to use something half finnished from the forgotten pile. You know we all have them, projects and half colored stamped images that you say your going to go back and finnish, but they just lay around. Well go finnish one and enter it in this weeks challenge at Creating with Chrissy . For my project, this foil from Close to my Heart was one of the first things I rolled through my Big Shot when I got my embossing folders. Sadly though I never did anything with it. I also bought Tim Holtz alcohol inks from Sweet N' Sassy some time back and never used those either. Nancy reminded me that they worked well on foil, and there you have my card ! They were much less of a mess than I anticapated and dried almost instantly !

We made baby onesie cards last night at my technique class, Nancy got this idea to cut the sleeves with the scallop scissors, and that's where the idea for this card began ! I used the basic pattern for the onesie card, and then tweeked it from there. The paper is old from Basic Grey, some of the first dp I ever bought ! Julee's Mojo Challenge

I needed an anniversary card and I thought Julee's sketch would work perfectly. There is so much white on the card the picture isn't great. I stamped the images in Versamark, then colored them with shimmer chalks, stamped over them again with Versamark and embossed with Glassy Glaze Enamel.

I don't usually show many pictures of our life here in Barrow, but the scene yesterday was hilarious! We got the boys a dog sled last year for Christmas and they have been bugging Darryl to take them out. We thought out of the two village dogs we have that the big male,part wolf manly dog would pull forever. Nothin doin , he tucked his tail between his legs and laid in the snow when the harness was put on him. Our sweet little girl dog pulled her heart out ! At one point my husband fell in the snow and pretended he was hurt, thinking that Cuckoluck would miraculously pull him home (like in the movie 8 Below !) Ha,Ha, She stood there looking at him like "yea, right" until he got off the sled. Then she pulled the kids home .

I have been stuck on sketches lately. This one is a sketch put out by the tallented Jen Del Muro at i heart 2 stamp. The paper is new from Close to my Heart and the stamp is my favorite new set from Sweet N' Sassy stamps !

I made this card a few weeks ago and never posted it. Then yesterday Nancy told me about Allison's challenge and I knew this card would be perfect for it! You are to make a card using a stamp that cost only 1.00 ! This was the perfect challenge for me because I have lots of these stamps that I haven't been using ! Our Annual Valentine's Banquet

Tonight was our church's annual Valentine's banquet. I look forward to it for some time, I try to use my stamping abilities to do something nice for the tables. This year when I saw Paper Tray's release I new it would be perfect to center my whole theme around. This cookie box (yes, I made them) and decorated chocolates were what I came up with. I bought this 7 Gypsies paper eons ago and never used a scrap of it. It's awesome paper, it just never seemed to match what I was doing. But low and behold it did match the yellows on the penguin ! Kirsten over at Confessions of a Naptime Stamper is having a sketch challenge, that is where I got the layout for this card.

Okay, what's not to love about this new stamp set from Sweet N' Sassy !? For the background I ripped a rugged edge out of scrap paper and laid it where I wanted the snow line, then I just sponge-rubbed on three different colors of ink.

We've been to Fairbanks Playing Hockey !

I'm sorry that i've been missing for a week, my husband is the hockey coach here in Barrow and we took two teams of kids and teenagers to Fairbanks for games. There were about 36 of us and I don't need to tell you how exhausted I am. But I checked the post office today and had lots of stamping goodies from Sweet n' Sassy , and a S-U order and a prize I won from Mary Duffek, I'm raring to get stamping so stay tuned for more-glad to be home, Laurie !

I have gotten so into card-making lately that I had forgotten that scrapping was the real reason why I got started in this hobby. Over the past few months i'd tried to pick it back up again, but it seemed I had lost the mojo. Yesterday I was looking at this picture of my husbands sister and her family and I got inspired ! I'm feeling so good about this one that I think i'll go send some pictures out to be developed!

Gotta Love-em, Rub Ons

I made these samples of some ways to use rub-ons to show the ladies at my last class. I must admit that I had stayed far away from rub-ons until S-U started carrying them. Then I had to get them cuz i'm a demonstrator. I thought i'll just buy one pack to show people, but after compleating these projects with great ease i'm LOVING them !! I must also throw in here that last year when the glass etching came out at SCS I bought all the stuff and demonstrated it at a class- what a mess !!! I achieved basically the same look on the candle holder, alot easier and cheaper !!!

My Baby's Gonna Be Seven

I can't believe my little baby is gonna be seven soon. I'm sort of in denial about my kids getting older, like I assumed that they would stay sweet babies forever ! Anyway Micah is kind of miffed that I keep making things with this knight set from Sweet N' Sassy Stamps, but none of them were for him. He knew his birthday was coming up so every time he say a new knight card he would ask me if it was his birthday card. So this one is his ! All my boys love this stamp set. I caught Jeremiah pulling my blue knight card out of my card box and sitting with it just looking with a little smile on his face. I wish I had taken a picture ! Anyway, I know Micah will love this and I hope you enjoy too !

Julee at Poetic Artistry always comes up with the coolest sketches, I try to do them every week. I also wanted to do Marlou's challenge at Scrapping with Love, because she is the sweetest person, always encouraging others with her kind comments. BUT, i've been very unmotivated and busy with other things. So today I eeked out this card and combined the two challenges, Julee's sketch with Marlou's requirements.
